The prominent nephew to the French Ambassador, he was killed down in Bethnal Green by the “Bethnal Green Butcher”. A large sum of money was spent to keep his name and face out of the newspaper. He used the alias, Marcel Larante, while slumming. He was a regular patron of a prostitute by the name of Dana Nightingale. She reported that he got mugged a few weeks back and that he met another man by the name of William Barlow, an owner of a textile factory called Barlow’s Weaves and Garments.
